BeWood/
BeTree

Performance

By Obelisco Productions

In BEWOOD performers attempt the impossible task of becoming a forest in a failed collective ritual. This anthropocentric performance explores the daily life of trees, from the struggle for roots and photosynthesis to the release of oxygen, within a human framework. By physically sinking feet into the earth and seeking chlorophyll-driven stillness, the work confronts the absurdity of our desire for natural integration.Ultimately, it is a meditation on presence and the environmental consciousness that emerges when we confront our own physical limitations. This ritualistic performance redefines the boundary between the observer and the living woodland.
